Before taking a photo
- Stand where you would take the shot and use the rear 1× camera.
- Include the cue ball, target ball, nearby obstacles, and one complete visible pocket.
- Keep the phone steady and make sure the table cloth is well lit.
How to mark a pocket manually
Tap the left outer jaw.
Place the point on the left edge of the pocket opening.
Tap the right outer jaw.
Place the point on the matching right edge.
Tap the center inside the pocket.
This point must be behind the imaginary line connecting points 1 and 2.
Do not place point 3 between the jaws or on the table cloth in front of the jaw line. The app includes this first-use diagram and a help button in both editors.
Missed or incorrect balls
Detection is a starting point. Use Correct Cue Ball, Add Missed Ball, and Delete False Ball before selecting the target. The target is always selected manually; all other balls are treated as obstacles.
No direct route
Confirm that the pocket points span the real outer jaws and verify all ball markers. Version 1.0.0 models direct shots to one visible pocket only; it does not model banks, combinations, spin, stroke technique, or post-impact cue-ball position.
Camera permission
If camera access was denied, open iOS Settings, find Pool Shot Planner, and enable Camera. The app requests no other permission.
